Lacy Trellis Crochet Cowl Pattern suitable for a child age 4-12 or adult. Pattern written using both UK & USA terms , this is the UK version UK Pattern This cowl design uses less than one 100g skein/ball of yarn, so is ideal to use up oddments from your stash. The cowl is 27”/69cm long with the ends joined to make a circle.

The yellow cowl is 13”/33 cm wide & the blue one is 11”/28cm wide (or with shell edging is 12.5”/31.5cm which is optional) Materials : 5.5mm crochet hook & a large eye needle Yellow mohair cowl: 2 x 50g skeins/balls of 2 ply/lace weight luxury mohair (I used an 80% mohair, 10% acrylic, 10% nylon yarn).

The sustainable mohair comes from the inner soft fleece of Angora goats which are shorn twice a year. The yarn is hand wash only. Each skein/ball was 101.8m/111yards long. I weighed the cowl when it was finished – 78g was used.

The cowl is very warm, fluffy & is as light as gossamer! You could use an Aran, chenille or other fancy yarn but may have to adjust the length, width or amount used.

Blue Cowl: 1 skein/ball of 100g DK (Double Knitting) yarn 100% acrylic. The 100g ball was 300m/329 yards long & I used only 57g of Scheepjes Colour Crafter yarn in a lovely blue colour called Den Helder which is machine washable). With the optional shell edging completed on both long edges I used 75g in total for the cowl.
