This adorable very strokable cardigan for age 4-6 is lightweight, soft and cuddly to wear. The faux fur luxury yarn (100% polyester) does not shed any fibres at all. The yarn is also fully machine washable at 40c, but do not tumble dry or iron. This cardigan is quick to make due to the super chunky yarn and large 10mm hook.
 
Difficulty/skill level: intermediate. Although basic stitches are used in the pattern there are decreases plus crochet ribbing (see close-up photo above left). It helps to feel with your fingers to find the next stitch to crochet into, due to the faux fur yarn.
 
Materials: yarn used – Sirdar Alpine Faux Fur (super chunky) in Lynx (chosen because it looks like teddy bear fur!) There are other fur options to choose from too. 5 x 50g balls were used. Each 50g is 33 metres/36 yards long. Total yardage 180 yds/ 165 metres, but if you just want to make a sleeveless waistcoat then 3 balls are enough. Hook & other materials required: 10mm crochet hook, large tapestry needle, tape measure, stitch marker, 1 large button Tension/ Gauge: with 10mm hook, approx 6 stitches/ 4 rows = 4”/10cm
